【摘要】:ThispartofISO/IEC23001specifiesBSDL(BitstreamSyntaxDescriptionLanguage),alanguagebasedonW3CXMLSchematodescribethestructureofabitstreamwithanXMLdocumentnamedBSDescription.BSDLprovidesanormativegrammartodescribeinXMLthehigh-levelsyntaxofabitstream;theresultingXMLdocumentiscalledaBitstreamSyntaxDescription(BSDescription,BSD).Thisdescriptionisnotmeanttoreplacetheoriginalbinaryformat,butactsasanadditionallayer,similartometadata.Inmostcases,itwillnotdescribethebitstreamonabit-per-bitbasis,butratheraddressitshigh-levelstructure,e.g.,howthebitstreamisorganizedinlayersorpacketsofdata.Furthermore,theBSDescriptionisitselfscalable,whichmeansitmaydescribethebitstreamatdifferentsyntacticlayers,e.g.,finerorcoarserlevelsofdetail,dependingontheapplication.ThislanguagewasinitiallydevelopedinthecontextofDigitalItemAdaptation(ISO/IEC21000-7)asagenerictoolforadaptingscalablemultimediacontent.However,itsuseisnotrestrictedtoadaptationandmayberelevantforanyapplicationparsingabitstream.ThisiswhythispartofISO/IEC23001extractstheBSDLspecificationfromISO/IEC21000-7tomakeitavailabletoothercontexts.
