【摘要】:Thelow-temperature,low-shear-rateviscosityofgearoils,automatictransmissionfluids,torqueandtractorfluids,andindustrialandautomotivehydraulicoils,AnnexA4,areofconsiderableimportancetotheproperoperationofmanymechanicaldevices.Measurementoftheviscometricpropertiesoftheseoilsandfluidsareoftenusedtospecifytheiracceptability.Thistestmethodisusedinanumberofspecifications.Thistestmethoddescribeshowtomeasureapparentviscositydirectlywithouttheerrorsassociatedwitheitherinterpolationorextrapolationofexperimentaldata.Note18212;Viscosityvaluesobtainedbyeitherinterpolationorextrapolationaresubjecttoerrorscausedbygelationornon-Newtonianresponsetorotorspeed,orboth.OnlyinthecaseofknownNewtonianoilsisinterpolationacceptableforthepurposeofcalibratingtherotorandglasscell.Ifsuchviscosityversustemperatureplotsarerequired,theycanbemadebytheprocedureoutlinedinAnnexA1.Note8212;AdaptedfromdrawingsofBrookfieldEngineeringLaboratories.FIG.1DiagramofNo.4LVCylindricalSpindle1.1ThistestmethodcoverstheuseoftheBrookfieldviscometerandalow-temperaturebathforthedeterminationofthelow-shear-rateviscosityoflubricants.Thetestmayoperateintheviscosityrangeof500to1000000mPas(cP).Thebath-controlledtemperatureisselectedwithintherangeof+5to-40176;C.1.2ThetestmethodusestheSIunit,milliPascal-second(mPas),astheunitofviscosity.(1cP=1mPas).1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
